A Body for the Blessed is a dark fantasy romance with horror elements--or romantasy horror--in which Liora, a young scholar, joins an education fellowship intending to study religion, miracles, and other phenomena. Cynical about organized religion but fascinated by its power over people, she hopes the fellowship will be a chance to study faith scientifically—but nothing is what it seems. Still haunted by her mother’s death during an infamous exorcism and the endless media attention it attracted, she must navigate her own skepticism, public scrutiny, and the strange world of the fellowship. Complicating everything is a fellow scholar whose devotion unsettles her almost as much as her growing attraction to him. But as she digs deeper, she realizes that studying miracles may demand more of her than she ever expected.
